I have added an Accelerated Reader Link to links located on the right. Students may take AR tests throughout the summer. I have told them that we will be having a lunch bunch at my house toward the end of the summer for those who attain a certain number of points. Now I just have to figure out how many points that is! I’ll figure up what the average for this year is, and shoot just a little higher! I’ll post that number during our last week!

Khan Academy on 60 Minutes
I wanted to share a website that might be helpful to your child (or your children) in the future. It is called Kahn Academy, and is a non-profit website which has math lessons ranging from elementary math to calculus. I’m including the 60 Minutes link, as well, that features Sal Kahn, an MIT graduate, who started making youtube videos to help his niece or cousin with math. Bill Gates began using his videos to help his children with math.
My daughter, Caroline, is now using it to help her with Algebra, and I used a lesson in class to help teach mixed numbers. If you have trouble with reinforcing a math skill at home, (especially if you have older children, too), you might want to search this website and see if it can help you.
